What we do
Our fundamental role is threefold:- Action Research Cases
- Individual Support Cases
- Seeking Development Opportunities
We aim to help individuals or families but with the intention of helping them to learn to solve problems themselves. (This never involves the giving of legal advice. Rather, RAPAR works closely with legally qualified personnel.)
We also work with small groups or collectives of people may approach us with ideas for development, such as the fledgling Congo Support Project (CSP), which - with our help - is now an organisation in its own right.
We work with people from many countries including Afghanistan, Cameroon, Congo, England, Guinea-Conakry , India, Iran, Iraq, Kenya, Kurdish, Libya, Jamaica, Uganda, Pakistan, Roma, Sri Lanka, Somalia, Zimbabwe, be they Agnostic, Atheist, Bahai, Catholic, Christian, Hindi, Muslim, Sikh, etc. And we can help with access to education, access to employment, access to food, access to resources for children, access to shelter, access to transport, applications to drive, bereavement, cultural expression needs, deportation, destitution, detention, disappearance, drug use, inappropriate accommodation, inappropriate location of housing, isolation, mental health, physical disability, separation, stress, suicide, violence against the person (perpetrated by individuals and by groups, relatives or strangers)
